In cricket, you cannot be born as a hero, but you can be made one. The only secret weapon is hard work.

Cricket is one of the most popular sports in the world, with fans across the entire globe. The game’s governing body, the International Cricket Council (ICC), has over 100 member countries, of which 12 are full members.

The sport is played in 3 formats :

  • Test Matches - 5-day match with 2 innings per team

  • One Day Matches - 50 Overs per team

  • T20 Matches - 20 Overs per team

Highest Run-scorer of all-time in men’s test matches is India's Sachin Tendulkar (Nickname : "The Little Master"), Tendulkar scored 15,921 in his Test match career from 1989 to 2013.

Leading wicket-taker of all time in international tests is Sri Lanka's Muttiah Muralitharan. The spin bowler took 800 wickets in his Test career from 1992 to 2010. He registered his 800th and final wicket from the final ball of his Test career in July 2010.

Two separate World Cups are contested each on a two or four-year basis. The ICC Cricket World Cup (a 50-over competition) is held every four years and the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup is held every two years.

Apart from these international matches and tournaments, there are also regional matches that take place. On the domestic stage, one of the biggest tournaments in the world is the Indian Premier League (IPL). Other smaller tournaments include Ranji Trophy, Duleep Trophy, etc.
